Are you ready for Ski Season? Is your body?

Ski season will eventually be here… I think we’re all mentally ready for some white stuff to play in. The question is, are you physically ready?
We recently met with Joe Grant from Joe Grant Physical Therapy to get some advice on how to get our bodies prepped for skiing.
Here’s Joe with an introduction to his BIG THREE exercises to get you limbered up for skiing:
Exercise 1: “The Squat Curl Press”: This exercise mimics the repetitive up and down motion your legs experience while you are skiing or riding. It will increase your strength and improve your balance.
Exercise 2: “The Tennis Serve”: This exercise simulates the action of getting knocked into the “front seat” and teaches you to recover to the starting position. Again helps with strength and balance.
Exercise 3: “The Shot Put”: This exercise simulates the action of getting knocked into your “back seat” and helps with recovery, strength, and balance.
Thanks Joe! Now you have some basic exercises to make sure you’re body is ready and able for skiing and riding.
Joe lives here in Warren, and skis at both Sugarbush and Mad River Glen. If you’d like to make an appointment to see Joe he can be reached at (802) 496-2422 or jgrant@madriver.com. Visit his website at www.joegrantpt.com.
