The pandemic has brought an entirely new meaning to the phrase "digital world." Virtual fatigue now dominates our daily routines with video conferencing, online streaming, and virtual learning. Nearly two years into the pandemic, there is a great desire to find alternatives to safely socialize and discover ways to unwind outdoors. Homeowners migrated away from cities and refocused their priorities on maximizing outdoor space. Extensive studies further substantiate the mental and physical benefits of being outside. The importance of "unplugging" is now more important than ever.
Vermont has always been known for its abundance of nature. Tourism ranks as Vermont's largest industry welcoming over 13 million visitors annually. With many natural wonders to explore, there is no surprise why people gravitate to experience the Mad River to escape their screens!
Uniquely flowing Northbound, this river spans 26 miles from the Granville Gulf and terminates in the Winooski River just beyond Middlesex. The Mad River provides a backdrop and access to an abundance of large rock outcroppings, deep water holes, and spectacular views. The river meanders through the towns of Warren, Waitsfield, and Moretown. You can access the river through a wide variety of options. Walk the Mad River Path, park at one of the many public swim holes, or enjoy a paddleboarding session through a guided tour with Clearwater Sports. You may enjoy lunch on the banks of the river in Waitsfield Village, or find peace sitting on the edge of the Warren Falls just about any time of the year.
A splendid and memorable experience for all visitors and indeed, quite a nice place to call home. Skip the live stream and jump into the refreshingly cold waters of the Mad River. Come visit the Mad River and find out why this valley has coined itself after this spectacular amenity!
