Take a Walk!

Take a Walk!
We are blessed with so much outdoor recreation in the Mad River Valley. First rate downhill and xc skiing, riding, mountain biking and hiking top the list. But also paddling, fishing, hunting, equestrian pursuits, tennis, pickleball, hockey & skating, snowshoeing, snowmobiling and skateboarding are all readily available.
Short but Sweet
This short article is about one of the most basic but also most available pursuits, walking!
A new Bridge in the Mad River Valley
We can walk backroads, paths and trails just about any time of year and walking requires no special skills, gear nor even a lot of planning. I encourage folks to check out the new bridge over Mill Brook behind the Recreation Hub at the corner of Route 100 & 17 and the trail network in the woods there. And easiest (read “flattest”) of all, the sidewalk which runs along Route 100 in Irasville, and the associated “Fiddler’s Walk” and “Heart of the Vally” trails beckon from the heart of our downtown.
Self-Healthcare
The health benefits of a walk for as little as 20 minutes extend to your lungs, heart and more. I always feel a little happier during and after a walk, the greatest reason to go. That’s it! Walk and be happy. And please support the Mad River Path Association!
